Fort William Henry was a French & Indian War fortress. The British outpost, erected in 1755, fell to the French and their Indigenous allies in 1757. Besides being a colonial fort, the location has had three hotels, been the terminus for the Delaware & Hudson railroad, and today houses the Fort William Henry Museum. The author will tell little-known stories about the fort and grounds.
Joseph W. Zarzynski is a maritime archaeologist and author from Wilton in Saratoga County. He serves on the board of The French & Indian War Society at Lake George, Inc., a not-for-profit organization. He is the author of eight books, his latest being Fort William Henry's Moments in Time.
