Do you knit, crochet, basketweave, or make macrame?  Come learn how to make durable, waterproof, environmentally friendly "plarn" (plastic bag yarn) out of old grocery bags!  We will explore several techniques for creating different thicknesses and textures of plarn, as well as discuss best practices for constructing projects out of this versatile material.

Bring at least 5 plastic bags and a pair of sharp scissors to class to practice with!  Thinner bags from grocery stores work best.  Brown colored bags can be used to create designs resembling jute, while colorful bags or those with graphics take on a look all their own.

Older teens to adults are welcome.  Please, no children - check out our youth and teen calendars for tons of great crafts and programs designed for kids and families!
