Author Ann Sayers will present a lively talk focusing on her recently published book Their Name is Wicks: One Family's Journey through Shaker History. The Wicks family drama unfolded in the nearby Shaker settlement of Watervliet (adjacent to what is now the Albany International Airport). Ann Sayers spent over five years uncovering this remarkable local history story. Ann Sayers is a retired children's librarian who has been a docent at the Shaker Heritage Society for over twenty-five years. She was born in London, England; and for those who are mystery buffs, she is indeed distantly related to the English writer Dorothy L. Sayers!
