In this workshop, you will learn the skills you need to propel your story forward and develop deeply thought-out characters in record time. Most importantly, you will learn what to do when you are STUCK. An experienced creative writing teacher and three-time NanoWrimo “winner”, Robyn Ringler has the inside scoop on what to do with your novel once it is complete. All writers are welcome, whether you are a NanoWrimo participant or not. Please bring a pen or pencil and notebook to write in! Registration Required.
About NaNoWriMo
Have you always wanted to write a novel? No better time than the present – November is National Novel Writing Month! Dubbed “NaNoWriMo” for short, this fast and furious creative writing experience is all about getting pen to paper, and generating a 50,000 word manuscript in 30 days. If that sounds like a lot, don’t fret - the Library is here to help. Power outlets, reference materials, computers, study carrels, and quiet space await writers ready to work in our mezzanine and computer area. A host of activities are planned to help you get inspired, find support, stay motivated, and explore next steps for your manuscript. Look for the NaNoWriMo section on page X for a full listing of free workshops and talks. Want to stay in the loop? Sign up for the Colonie Library NaNoWriMo email list at tiny.cc/clNNWM
