Single minute change of dies indicates less than 10 minute die changes. Although the traditional description of less than 10 minutes now is meaning less then 3 minutes and even less than 1 minute.
Advances in Quality inspection and manufacturing allows for improved TAKT time, machine utilization, and efficiency. This allows for more approaching single piece flow. In quality, this means less time for inspection and improved methods.
Paul Klein has served 4 decades in the manufacturing and quality management ranks. Mr. Klein has passed NYS Professional Engineer, ASQ Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt and Auditor certification exams.
