Despite flooding during Katrina, snow collapse and wind, he manages to grow many orchids perfectly and has earned multiple American Orchid Society awards. His favorites are the Australian Dendrobium, terrestrial cymbidium and Southeast Asian to Australian Sarchochilus, with their clusters of butterfly shaped blooms.
